There is something very "eighties" in "Terra"- a bit as if "Music for supermarkets" had crossed "White Eagle" and Depeche Mode ! But Sayer has the intelligence to combine all of this in the light of his own rhythmic and melodic sensitivity, and the result is simply ... bluffing ! Perhaps one of his best albums, where the profusion of melodic ideas competes with constantly evolving compositions, where each title conceals surprises and opens on unexpected bifurcations. A must have !
